Best things about winter in the Dairy ... warm woodburner, good local food, walks and lots to do around here
The days in November have been good with warmer temperatures than usual, but when it gets colder it makes you appreciate the toasty woodburner - great to come back to after a long walk!
There are quite a few things going on locally - Long Melford has its Big Night Out celebration for Guy Fawkes Night, then there is the switching on of the Christmas lights in the local towns and villages, (in Sudbury its tonight). Bury St Edmunds has a very lively Christmas Market which is on this weekend, with 200 stalls and lots to entertain you http://www.burystedmundschristmasfayre.co.uk. Also nearby is Wyken Hall at Stanton, with its Saturday morning Farmers Market, together with the Leaping Hare Country Store (shown above) which has a great selection of local crafts and gifts for Christmas as well as a very good restaurant, the Leaping Hare http://www.wykenvineyards.co.uk
